Background

Synaptics Inc is building a world-class franchise around WiFi/BT products targeted towards IoT applications. As part of this push to be the go-to vendor for connectivity solutions for IoT, a new silicon development team is being built in Bangalore. The team will have complete ownership of connectivity products right from architecture, specification development, design, design verification, integration, emulation, tapeout and production. The team is viewed as a “start-up” within Synaptics umbrella and is looking for highly motivated, talented members to create next generation products.

Design role in 802.11 MAC for WiFi7 development. Emphasis on power efficient and low latency designs with scalabilities and flexibilities. Drive innovations in the low power design, performance enhancements, design improvements etc. Work closely with internal teams (SoC/PHY/FW/DV) for defining the various feature sets and interfaces. Need to work as well on chip bring-up and Si debug.

Design role in MAC RTL team to deliver the Wifi6 and Wifi7 MAC to SOC team. Writing specifications and other documents based on Wi-Fi standard and requirement arising out of discussion within internal team. Must have a well-developed ability to analyze specifications and micro-architecture to identify design improvements.

• Work on microarchitecture of MAC blocks from IEEE specs, Wi-Fi standards
• Deliver bug free MAC RTL and closely work with verification team for debug and develop verification plan, drive coverage parameter for 802.11MAC IP.
• Work with other team including emulation and assist integration of IP in SoC. Drive synthesis constraint, review timings, work on power estimation and optimization.
• Well verse with ASIC Frontend Tools: Linting, Formal Logic equivalence, Logic synthesis, STA, CDC checks

Job Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in appropriate engineering discipline with 6+ years of experience in design and delivery of Wireless IPs.
• Experience in design of wireless protocols including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be
• Knowledge of MAC, DMA, packet processing layer blocks
• Solid understanding of wireless standards, such as IEEE 802.11, is added advantage
• Well verse with modern design techniques and low power logic design
• Track record of bringing logic designs into mass production
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and be productive under aggressive schedules
• Strong understanding of the ASIC development flow
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate development activities across multiple sites
