Our daily work is defined by both the immediate demands of our development staff and our plan to evolve our environment so that it is the best it can be. You will be part of a cross functional team that has everything it needs to complete it’s work with interfaces into IT and the engineering teams that we support. We will expect you to interact with our end users to determine their requirements and clarify that their needs have been met. We create social networks that allow our business to be successful and use chat tools to work with our customers and solve issues collaboratively.   Our Automation platforms include Jenkins and we are also looking at HPCplatforms such as IBM LSF and Slurm.  We need to know how these systems work so that we can identify improvements, rollout new automation environments and hook these systems into our monitoring to ensure our service is uninterrupted   It is important that you have a desire to uncover new technology choices and both use and introduce best in class development and IT practices to the team. Infrastructure and configuration as code are important to us as they allow us to go quickly, safely and minimize our mean time to recovery. You will have a good level of understanding of system administration and be comfortable driving development through the command line whilst using modern practices. Knowledge of cloud is of interest to us as we are operating a cloud first policy in our development platform. The cloud allows us to scale horizontally and provide quick feedback to our staff. As a member of the Release Engineering team we are supporting the software and chip development and for this reason it’s beneficial to have knowledge of these engineering domains. We are a fast-paced team working in the wireless domain. You’d be involved in developing ground-breaking products using a mix of C and C++ skills. We work across the full stack from hardware, through drivers to user GUIs. We use C#, Modern C++ and Linux Kernel C as main languages.   The most important skills you can bring to us are a solid understanding of C++ and modern coding practices. Equally important is that you are a critical thinker and are willing to try things, fail and move on to successful outcomes. We want you and the teams you are in to excel and so communication is another key skill you will have in order to partake in design talks, problem solving and knowledge sharing. We strive to be open with each other and hold ourselves accountable as individuals and as a team. We embrace different perspectives while supporting each other. We use Jenkins with Python based frameworks for continuous integration and Git for source control. You’d be involved in feature development and analysis, technical design of new products, innovating on cutting-edge technology, extend and improve our codebase, creative problem-solving, architecture design and more.
